Family Mediation & Parenting Coordination in Valrico & FishHawk, Florida
Valrico, along with FishHawk Ranch in Lithia, lies in the southeast corner of Hillsborough County. Residents can book an in-person meeting with Jessica inside Hillsborough County or join a session from their kitchen table over Zoom.
As a Florida Supreme Court certified family mediator (#44460F) and a qualified Florida parenting coordinator, Jessica brings a licensed clinical social worker's training to Valrico and FishHawk families. Her job is to remain impartial; she neither takes a position for one spouse nor offers legal guidance.
Keeping the focus on the kids
Between travel teams, band rehearsals and two careers, coordinating children across two homes can feel endless. Mediation lets you settle family matters without arguing them in open court. It also gives both parents the chance to design a schedule specific enough for real weeks, from Tuesday practices to spring break trips.
Topics on the table
Separating finances, retirement savings and the mortgage in a divorce
Time-sharing calendars and full parenting plans
Child support and spousal support, initial or revised
Paternity matters for parents who never married
Ongoing support for co-parents
Even with a signed plan, handoffs, extracurriculars and group texts can keep sparking conflict. A parenting coordinator acts as a neutral guide who helps parents apply the plan they have and resolve routine disputes without starting from scratch. This can be set up by agreement or ordered by a judge. The parenting coordination page explains more.
Local court information
Hillsborough County sits in Florida's Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. The Hillsborough County Clerk provides family court services at its Brandon Service Center (311 Pauls Drive), which is the nearest clerk location for many Valrico and FishHawk households, and also downtown Tampa and in Plant City. Jessica isn't affiliated with the court or clerk, and this is not legal advice.

Valrico & FishHawk questions
Do you serve Lithia and FishHawk Ranch?
Yes. Both are in Hillsborough County, so in-person meetings are possible there, and video sessions are available any time.
Can we update an older parenting plan as the kids get older?
Yes. Mediation is a good place to talk through how a plan written for toddlers might change for teens. Any questions about filing changes are best taken to an attorney.
How do we handle a teenager's busy activity schedule in a parenting plan?
Parents often use mediation to work out who covers transportation, costs and attendance for sports or clubs, and how to adjust when seasons change.
Will Jessica give us legal advice?
No. She is trained as a social worker and mediator, not an attorney, and you are free to bring a lawyer of your own.
Is there a fee for the initial consult?
There isn't; the first 15 minutes are free.
Pick a time for a free 15-minute consult or call or text (813) 449-2500 with questions. You'll find all booking choices on the appointments page.
