Mediation as a first step for Mount Dora families

Settling things in mediation keeps family matters out of open court and usually keeps them more private. Parents get to plan around how they actually live, from school calendars to work shifts to weekends, instead of leaving each detail to someone else.

Services for Lake County families

  • Family mediation: parenting plans, time-sharing, child support, alimony, and dividing property or debts

  • Parenting coordination: support for parents who are following a plan that is already in place

  • Collaborative divorce: Jessica serves as the neutral facilitator, the mental health professional on the team

How a session works

You start with a free 30-minute consult. After that, Jessica sends a secure link and goes over confidentiality and the session format. She can work with everyone together or with each person separately in private breakout rooms. Agreements are summarized in writing and signed electronically once everyone is comfortable.

Fees

Jessica charges $200 per hour, billed in tenth-of-an-hour (6-minute) increments. The price is the same on Zoom, and the retainer is set case by case.

Mount Dora FAQs

Can I meet Jessica in person?

No. Sessions for Lake County are held by Zoom only.

My co-parent lives in another county. Does that matter?

Not for a Zoom session. Each of you can join from your own location.

Is Zoom secure enough for something this personal?

Jessica uses password-protected meetings and asks everyone to join from a private space. She goes over privacy steps before the session starts.

Will Jessica write our final paperwork?

She writes up the terms you reach in a written agreement. Because she does not give legal advice, many people have their own attorney review it.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. The first consult is 30 minutes and free, and you can book it online. You can use that time to ask questions and decide whether mediation is a good fit before you commit.

Book a free 30-minute consult, call (813) 449-2500, or email jessica@calminchaos.net.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with weekends by appointment.

Jessica Oliver, LCSW, is a mediator and licensed clinical social worker, not an attorney. Mediation and parenting coordination are not legal advice or representation.
