Family Mediation & Parenting Coordination in Bushnell, Florida
Bushnell is Sumter County's county seat, a small town where neighbors tend to know each other's business. Jessica keeps family conversations private and local: she meets Bushnell clients in person in Sumter County, and Zoom is there for weeks when travel is hard.
Jessica is a licensed clinical social worker and a certified family mediator through the Florida Supreme Court (#44460F). She remains impartial throughout, which means no siding with either person and no legal advice.
Why families here choose mediation
Mediation lets you settle family matters without arguing them in open court. For rural households with farm chores, long commutes on I-75 or shift work, a scheduled private session can feel far more manageable than repeated hearings.
Services offered to Bushnell residents
Mediation: parenting plans, time-sharing, child support, alimony and dividing land, homes, vehicles or debts
Parenting coordination: help for parents who have a plan in place but still run into conflict over the specifics
Collaborative divorce: a neutral facilitator role on a collaborative team in which each spouse has an attorney
What to expect
Start with a no-cost 15-minute call. If you both decide to move forward, Jessica explains the ground rules, then guides sessions topic by topic so each person has room to be heard. Sessions can be held side by side or with each of you in a separate room or on a separate screen. Any agreement is drafted in writing and signed electronically, and you're welcome to have a lawyer look it over first.
Bushnell and the courthouse
The Sumter County Courthouse is in Bushnell, and Sumter is part of Florida's Fifth Judicial Circuit. Private mediation with Jessica is separate from the court and does not take place at the courthouse. This information is general and not legal guidance.

Bushnell questions
We live on acreage with animals. Can property like land or livestock be discussed in mediation?
Yes. Couples can talk through how they would like to handle land, equipment and animals. Jessica does not value property or give financial advice, so you may want your own advisors for that.
Is mediation in Bushnell held at the courthouse?
No. Private sessions take place in a Sumter County meeting space or by Zoom.
What if one parent has moved out of Sumter County?
That parent can join by Zoom while the other meets in person or also logs in remotely.
How long does a typical session run?
It varies with the number of topics. Jessica can give a sense of timing during the free call.
