Virtual Family Mediation & Parenting Coordination Across Florida
Wherever you live in Florida, you can mediate a divorce or parenting dispute, or work with a parenting coordinator, by secure video with Jessica Oliver, LCSW. Florida Supreme Court mediator certification is statewide, so a certified family mediator can serve families in any county.
Florida courts already mediate online
Remote mediation is routine in Florida courts. The Tenth Circuit’s ADR Services conducts family mediations by Zoom and telephone, and the Fifth Circuit’s county programs (for example Hernando) send Zoom links in the Notice of Mediation. Private virtual mediation works the same way.
How a virtual session works
You receive a secure Zoom video link. Sessions can be joint, or each person stays in a separate virtual room while Jessica moves between them. Documents are shared and signed electronically through DocuSign. A signed agreement can be filed with your court like any other mediated agreement.
When virtual works better
High conflict or safety concerns: no shared waiting room or parking lot, and separate rooms the whole time.
Distance: parents in different counties, a parent who has moved out of state, or a deployed service member.
Schedules: no drive to the courthouse and no lost workday.
Virtual parenting coordination
Parenting coordination under Fla. Stat. §61.125 is ongoing, and much of it happens between sessions. Virtual sessions plus phone and written check-ins fit that rhythm. The statute allows participants to take part by telephone, video conference, or other electronic means.
